CODE OF CONDUCT
FIRST AND FOREMOST:
Have fun! The ultimate purpose of Covenant is to enhance the enjoyment of World of Warcraft for its members. Enjoy your friends, enjoy the game, and most importantly, have a good time.
Covenant members will show respect to all players. This includes Covenant teammates, independents, and members of other guilds. Any disrespect to other guild members is taken very seriously. This is a family and friends guild and thus appropriate conduct is mandatory.
ETIQUETTE:
· Always “Do the Right Thing.”
· Ask often if anyone in the guild could use your help.
· Keep chat clean of foul and / or suggestive language.
· Do not bash other players or guilds in chat.
- Do not auction items in guild chat. You should not be trying to make money off guild mates anyway!
Guild Reputation is a priority for all of us. Everything you do reflects either positively or negatively on the guild as a whole. Any act by an individual that hurts the guild reputation will result in reparative action.
Covenant officers will attempt to arbitrate internal matters if attempts by parties involved have failed. You should attempt to peacefully resolve disputes and be respectful while doing so.
Covenant is a team. Team needs come before individual needs. While you are not required to immediately drop from any pickups or activities you are working on, we do ask that if you are starting a new group that you look to the guild for members who would be able to fill your slots before going outside the guild.
Do not abandon a pick-up group without warning if you are scheduled to go somewhere in real life or in-game. Notify the group of any plans you have to be somewhere at a predetermined time so they can coordinate a replacement.
BE RESPECTFUL and watch the smack-talk. Lighthearted banter is fine but putting down a fellow guild mate for any reason will not be tolerated. Even if you are putting down a real-life friend in a joking manner, keep in mind that other members may not understand you are kidding and might get the wrong impression.
FAMILY APPROACH AND ATTITUDE:
Covenant is a friends and family based guild on the Dark Iron server. What does this mean to you? It means that you are not here just to be a guild member, but to be a friend. Many of us are friends in the real world, or at the least we have had a lot of gaming experience together. Covenant was formed for good people to come together, enjoy the camaraderie in game, and benefit from the strength that comes from a powerful guild.
We believe in a “team first” attitude. That is, helping each other become stronger individually makes the team to become that much stronger. A “giving” environment results in strong player bonds and appreciation. In Covenant, you’ll find that what goes around comes around – helping the team comes back in assistance to you, often many times over. Our guild, while having a lot of fun, simultaneously maintains common sense and maturity. We emphasize standards of image and behavior, in striving to be well-respected on our server.
LOOT GUIDELINES:
· Covenant practices Need before Greed.
RAID LOOTING:
· 10 – man raids: Covenant uses a Master Loot policy when doing 10 man raids. Items will be viewed by the raid and rolling for the item will take place, if and only if it is an upgrade for the member. Recipes will be given, first to guild officer crafters so they stay within the guild.
HEROIC LOOTING:
· All items will be rolled on based if they are upgrades. If they are not needed by anyone, items will be disenchanted and the shard should be sent to the guild bank.
· Never loot during an encounter or while any party member is engaged in combat.
· Never loot while a member of the party is dead.
· A Need Item is defined as "any item that will immediately be equipped / used" by a player.
· A Greed Item is defined as "any item that will be sold or disenchanted."
· Ninja looting will not be tolerated, either in guild groups or reports from outside. Steps have been taken to prevent this type of conduct in raids, but should it happen in groups, you will be promptly removed from the guild. Consider this your warning.
LOOT PHILOSOPHY:
Our team is only as good as it's weakest member. A Guild that has rules centered around "greed" items often has a few high-level powerhouses while the rest of their guild fends for themselves.
Covenant’s philosophy is different - we are centered around "need." Who in our guild needs this? Who can use this? One piece given to a guild mate (instead of being sold) can have a vast impact on the guild as a whole. That Epic Sword might bring in a few hundred gold, but it could also make our tank stronger. Thus he will be able to hold more agro, which allows the priests more room to heal before overtaking the tank with agro. This in turn allows our mages/warlocks a larger spree of AoE's and mass damages without dying. Like a pebble in a pond results in easier Loot Runs and Instance Runs and more money down the road. Invest in your guild and you will reap the returns!
DEPOSITS:
Please deposit any items into the bank on the first tab, titled Off-Limits. This tab is used for high value items as well as deposits. Items will then be moved as needed over to the Free-for-all tab.
WITHDRAWLS:
Members may withdraw a certain number of items per day from the free-for-all tab based on guild rank. Items on this tab are just that, free-for-all. It’s basically a first come, first serve area, still remembering to follow the limits outlined above. Items on the Off-Limits tab are off-limits to the general public. These are high value items and will be distributed at an officer’s discretion.
